CASA DE VACAS. A NEW BEGINNING.
In 2023, “Ars Gratia Artis. Madrid” was presented as a solo exhibition sponsored by the City Council of Madrid, held at the iconic Centro Cultural Casa de Vacas in El Retiro Park. This exhibition is part of the artist’s most beautiful artistic adventures.
For the first time, Alberto Rodríguez Serrano presented his luminous works to the general public, an innovation that left a deep impact on all attendees. The exhibition, unprecedented in its format, was met with an overwhelming reception, with long queues of hundreds of meters of visitors eager to experience this new artistic dimension. The luminous works not only fascinated the viewers but also provided a unique visual experience, where light and color merge to bring the artwork to life in a completely new way.
Casa de Vacas, a historic building at the heart of Retiro Park, is a renowned cultural center whose journey since 1987 has been key in offering an extensive and varied cultural program. This space, part of the Paisaje de la Luz (declared World Heritage in 2021), has hosted numerous high-quality exhibitions, establishing itself as a cultural landmark in the city. The exhibition “Ars Gratia Artis“ was a unique opportunity for the Madrid public to engage with Serrano’s work, who continues to enrich the contemporary art scene with his unique vision.

The exhibition was received exceptionally, surpassing all expectations in both attendance and recognition. This event not only marked a milestone in Alberto Rodríguez Serrano’s career but also became a meeting point for great artistic and cultural figures. Personalities such as Norma Duval, Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza, who dedicated and endorsed the exhibition, and prominent figures from the world of art, culture, and sport were present to pay tribute to the artist’s talent.
Among the attendees were renowned figures such as Ortega Cano, José Antonio Camacho, David Aganzo, Hilario García, elite football players and athletes, as well as businesspeople, CEOs of multinational companies, major investors, ambassadors, journalists, actors, and politicians. All of them recognized the magnitude of the exhibition, highlighting the depth and sensitivity of the works presented, as well as their ability to emotionally connect with the audience. The event became a celebration of art in its most pure and expressive form, backed by personalities from various fields who reaffirmed Alberto Rodríguez Serrano’s relevance in the contemporary art scene.
And all of this with the support and affection of the Casa de Vacas team, under the direction of Lola Chamero, who led the project with care, professionalism, and great dedication.
