BIOGRAPHY
A LITTLE BEFORE...
Alberto Rodríguez Serrano (Madrid, 1988) began his career in the world of art as a child, with his earliest memories being among pencils and paints. His passion for artistic creation was awakened at a young age, when colors and shapes began to come to life in his imagination. This deep-rooted connection with art led him to study at prestigious institutions such as the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in Florence, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), and the School of Design, Engraving, and Printing Techniques at the National Mint and Stamp Factory (FNMT) in Spain. At these institutions, he refined his skills and developed a unique vision that would distinguish him throughout his career, with his main source of knowledge being his great curiosity and continuous self-learning.
Studies
After completing his basic education, Alberto Rodríguez Serrano enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). He graduated with numerous honors and an average grade of 9.2 (outstanding, A) in the second cycle of his studies, specializing in fine arts. Throughout his training, he particularly excelled in subjects such as Drawing from Life, Photography, Anatomical Drawing, Copperplate Engraving, and Printmaking Techniques, earning several distinctions for his excellence.
He received an honorary mention in the form of a diploma awarded by the Department of Drawing at the UCM, in recognition of his anatomical studies submitted to Patrimonio Nacional.
Upon completing his university studies, Alberto Rodríguez Serrano continued his academic involvement as a collaborator and teaching assistant at UCM, delivering Lithography lessons.
At the same time, he studied at the National Mint and Stamp Factory (FNMT), where he obtained a diploma in printing techniques, copperplate engraving, and graphic design. This recognition, now equivalent to a master’s degree, is known as the “Master in Graphic Printing, Illustration, and Artistic Coinage,” the result of collaboration between the National Mint and Stamp Factory – Real Casa de la Moneda (FNMT-RCM) and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).

He studied for a year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (Italy), where he received the highest academic recognition: 30 LODE (the equivalent of a First Class Honours in Spain) in all the subjects he completed. These titles were awarded in key areas such as Painting, Artistic Drawing, Casting, and Applied Morphological Anatomy.
He held a solo exhibition at the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. The venue where this exhibition took place has hosted several exhibitions throughout history, with the first one being held by the great master Michelangelo Buonarroti, painter of the Sistine Chapel and sculptor of the Pietà, and director of the Academy at that time.

After his studies
In 2012, he worked as a collaborator at the National Mint and Stamp Factory, specifically in the coin department, where his work involved manufacturing silver coins for commemorative and collectible purposes.
Simultaneously, he co-founded Estudio Taller de Arte Esbozos, an art school and academy, where he taught drawing, photography, and airbrushing for two years. These years were fundamental in creating and perfecting his artworks, which he would later use to develop his professional career in the art world.
Professional Beginnings
From 2014 to 2019, Alberto Rodríguez Serrano’s presence in the artistic world became consolidated internationally, collaborating with numerous galleries located across four continents: Spain, Italy, the United States, China, New Zealand, Colombia, Poland, Puerto Rico, Panama, among others. His work began to gain a prominent presence in the international circuit, with exhibitions and collaborations that transcended borders.
Over these years, in addition to achieving considerable commercial success, Rodríguez Serrano achieved notable accomplishments, standing out in various fields. Among the most significant are his collaborations with Leonart Gallery (Fabio Anselmi) and David Bardía Gallery, two prestigious galleries in Madrid’s contemporary art scene and northern Italy, where his work was exhibited and acclaimed.
In addition to his artistic career, Alberto ventured into various interdisciplinary collaborations. In the fashion world, he participated in major events such as Fashion Week, bringing his art to new audiences. He also ventured into the wine industry, painting what is likely the most expensive wine bottle in the world, from AurumRed Winery by Hilario García, currently valued at 300,000 dollars. His versatility also allowed him to collaborate with both public and private entities, contributing rights and images to economic and social projects, always supporting causes of great significance.
In June 2015, Alberto Rodríguez Serrano became part of the permanent collection of Carmen Cervera (Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection), one of the most prestigious art museums in Madrid. This piece, now housed in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, marked a milestone in his career, as Rodríguez Serrano became one of the few living artists and, moreover, the youngest to receive such an honor. This recognition underscores the exceptionality and relevance of his work in the international art scene. (Photograph below)
